Abstract

Cultural competency in healthcare is critical for improving patient outcomes in increasingly diverse societies. This paper explores the role of cross-cultural communication in enhancing healthcare delivery and patient satisfaction. Using case studies from hospitals in Spain, we analyzed how healthcare providers’ understanding of cultural differences affected treatment adherence, patient engagement, and overall satisfaction. The results show that culturally competent care leads to better patient-provider relationships, improved health outcomes, and reduced health disparities. However, the study also highlights the need for continuous training in cultural sensitivity for healthcare professionals. The paper concludes with recommendations for integrating cultural competency into medical education and healthcare policies to ensure inclusive and effective patient care.
