Abstract

Sustainable tourism has become a key factor in 2023 on the basis of which tourists make decisions on which hotels are resorts to stay in. Travelers are becoming more informed and conscious about their role in their environment and have started preferring eco-hotels that make use of energy efficient power in their business operations. The purpose of the present research is to create a sustainable tourism model after evaluating the different opportunities which renewable energy provides to these eco-hotels. Green hotels can be understood as ecological buildings the purpose of which is to set programs that save water and energy, ultimately reducing solid waste and managing their waste more efficiently. The findings of the research show how these eco-hotels are introducing new environmental standards which leads to increased protection of the environment and achieve better results within the hotel. The study has stated the advantages which eco-hotels can provide to organisations, through better management of the resources the potential of the organisations can be increased. Sustainable tourism within an organisation can only be achieved when the hotel is successfully able to align its economic growth, social inclusion and environmental protection protocols. The findings of the study recognize energy reduction to be a significant area in environmental management within the hotel industry, to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions. Despite its potential, renewable energy is not always adopted within organisations, the study aims at raising awareness and stabilising the climate.
