Abstract

Telemedicine has emerged as a vital tool for improving healthcare access in rural areas, particularly in developing countries like Brazil. This paper explores the impact of telemedicine on healthcare delivery in remote communities across Brazil. Through interviews with healthcare professionals and patients, we evaluated the effectiveness of telemedicine in providing essential services, such as consultations, diagnostics, and follow-up care. Our findings suggest that telemedicine has significantly reduced travel time and costs for patients, while also alleviating the burden on understaffed rural healthcare facilities. However, the study highlights barriers such as limited internet connectivity, lack of digital literacy, and regulatory challenges. The paper concludes with recommendations for expanding telemedicine infrastructure and training healthcare providers in digital health technologies.
