Abstract

Despite growing awareness of gender equality, female representation in corporate leadership remains low, particularly in CEO positions. This study explores the barriers and enablers for women in leadership roles in the European corporate sector, with a focus on Germany, France, and the UK. Through interviews with 50 female CEOs and surveys from 200 employees, we identify key factors that influence women's career advancement, such as corporate culture, mentorship, and work-life balance policies. Our findings suggest that while progress has been made, significant barriers such as gender bias, lack of networking opportunities, and unequal pay persist. The paper concludes with recommendations for corporations to implement more inclusive policies that promote gender equality in leadership.
